Typical Chemical Composition of 1.2714 (%)
*L6 ,C: 0.65 to 0.75%
Forging: 1100 to 850℃, slowing cooling in furnace.
Heat Treatment of 1.2714 Steel
Annealing: 650 to 700℃, slow cooling in furnace (10-20℃/hr), down to 600℃, cooling in air. Hardness after annealing: max. 250 HB.
Stress relieving: approx. 650℃, slow cooling in furnace. Hold in neutral atmosphere for 1 to 2hours.
Hardening: 830 to 870℃, oil/870 to 900℃, air, hold 15 to 30 minutes. Hardness , 52 to 58HRC in oil, 44 to 50 HRC in air.
Tempering: 300 to 600℃. Slowly heating to tempering temperature right after hardening. Recommended to temper at least twice.
* Hardening temperature: 850℃ oil/880℃ air, specimen size: dia60mm
Nitriding: possible within limits.

Die block steel with high performance for forging dies. Good toughness, deep hardening properties and compressive strength.

Dies of all kind for hammer and forging of steel; tools for rods and tube extrusion; forming dies; hot stamping dies for alumini um, bending and embossing tools; plastic moulds.
